Chalet La Tene II

Val-d'Isère France

About the project

This seven-bedroom chalet in Val d’Isère was designed to make the most of its exceptional ski-in/ski-out location, offering uninterrupted views across the slopes and surrounding alpine landscape. The brief centred on creating a luxurious yet welcoming retreat, complete with a dedicated spa area and private cinema. Drawing on the client’s appreciation for curved forms, we incorporated soft, flowing lines throughout the architecture and interior detailing, taking inspiration from Art Deco design while reinterpreting it through a contemporary lens. To create a sense of depth and character, we carefully layered antique and contemporary furnishings, blending old and new pieces to achieve a timeless, collected aesthetic that feels both elegant and comfortable.

Designer notes

"This was a particularly rewarding project to work on, as the client was keen to create a variety of atmospheres throughout the home, from calm, restorative spaces like the spa to more lively, entertainment and social areas such as the cinema and living room. Balancing these individual identities whilst maintaining a cohesive design language throughout the chalet made this an especially engaging and memorable project."
